The Santa Barbara Council of the Navy League of the United States officially adopted the USS Ronald Reagan in June 2000 and the ship was commissioned in 2003. The S.B. Council provided ship enhancements designed to improve the quality of sailors’ lives while deployed and to support the crew and their families for the life of the ship. The ship visited Santa Barbara, CA several times; the last visit being in 2014. Proceeds from the original sale of this bear were donated to the Santa Barbara Council.
