Like new condition. The book actually starts with a chapter of dolls with boxes dated 1979 because a number of these did not appear in the market until 1980. The dolls are presented chronologically by year, and are shown in 450 colored photographs. The decade of the 1980s was the favorite period of the “pink box collectors. There are versions of Ken, P.J., Whitney, Midge, Christie, Skipper and other Mattel favorites including the “Rockers.” The 80s were also a prime period for Black, Hispanic and Asian versions of the Barbie family. Costuming ranged from beach wear to wedding gowns.
