English translation entitled “Madame Bleuette, The Story of a Doll” is laid in. Very good condition. The first part of this book is a history of Bleuette, one of the most popular dolls in France. Bleuette was chosen to be an advertising gift incentive for children who subscribed to a new magazine called “La Semaine de Suzette” in 1905. Patterns and ready-made clothing were available for the doll. At first the clothing reflected current fashions, but soon began to dictate them. The main part of this book is a reprint of the catalogs showing Bleuette’s fashions, as well as showing children’s fashions up to 1960.
