Debby learns that one of her ancestors had owned a beautiful fashion doll named Gay Event, which she hid somewhere on the family farm. Debby and her mother spend the summer at the farm, and Debby is determined to find the doll. As her mother and her uncle begin to restore the house, Debby learns what life had been like a century earlier. A secret room is discovered, but the doll isn’t there. Just as Debby is about to give up, she discovers the hiding place.
